Gualchos offers many amenities ie. bars/ restaurants, shops, doctors, school and many other aspects of day to day living.   La Ventera is a small exclusive 5 bedroom hotel/bar/restaurant and a huge benefit to the village.  It is set in a fabulous elevated located and a very nice place to visit for special occasions or to enjoy the atmosphere with the odd drinks and tapas. 

 Gualchos is surrounded by an impressive mountain range with winter views up to the Sierra Nevada and the white snow capped peaks.

There are two natural springs to collect water and there are still donkeys and mules that can be seen working around the village even today used by the old locals.

 The village square (Plaza) is where fiestas are held usually three or four times a year. The main fiesta San Miguel is held towards the end of September for an impressive 4 days/nights including singing, dancing, food competitions, local brass band and much more.

 A 15 minutes drive will take you to the traditional village of Lujar.  The village is extremely quiet where older traditional families exist.  It is a great place to visit as older residents sit on their door  steps and chat throughout the day.  At the beginning of the village there is a large and impressive communal swimming pool.  The pool is open throughout the summer months and welcome to all.
